"If You Were President" is fun role-playing game, found in the Explore the Web section, that offers students the opportunity to make and defend some of the various decisions a president would make. They will have to choose three cabinet members based on brief biographies, try to balance the budget, and attend a press conference after writing out answers to defend their decisions. After the press conference, a newspaper is generated and can be printed, which features individual headlines and quotations of the "President".

In the interactive flipbook, The Presidency, three presidents are highlighted for "leading the country through crisis"–Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt and George W. Bush. Break your class into groups, or allow each child to choose one of these leaders, and have them research more about each man and the times they led. Encourage students to use the bios found on whitehouse.gov in the Explore the Web section as a starting point.

The president has a seemingly endless amount of jobs, roles, and responsibilities. Have students check out the "What Are the Different Hats the President Wears?" in the Explore More section. Break students into seven groups and have each group create one of the "hats" found in this section. Have each group explore the unit in greater depth to find out more about their "hat". Each group can then present their "hat" and their findings on what their designated role encompasses.
