Teaching with TrueFlix |
Most students who have been exposed to the wonders of Greek mythology are instantly intrigued with the gods and goddess, legends and mythical creatures. But where, why and how did these magical stories originate? TrueFlix's unit on Ancient Greece offers students a multimedia glimpse into the art, government, culture, and sports of this fascinating ancient civilization. |

A Multitude of Media |
The British Museum's site, found in the Explore the Web section provides a different spin on familiar mythological knowledge by tying it to ancient art. Each of the major gods and goddesses is also profiled and include highlights of the character's story, symbols, places, and objects that represent that figures' impact on history and the arts. Don't forget the back of each book provides suggested websites as well. The Ancient Greece title recommends the Metropolitan Museum of Art's website. Having students explore both sites, offers the opportunity to compare and contrast how different entities cover the same material. |
