Teaching with TrueFlix orange star
The holiday season is often a time of indulgent eating that, while pleasant at the time, may not make us feel so great afterwards. Explore the unit on The Digestive System to help your students understand how hard the body has to work to break down all that food they eat! The book also provides information on keeping healthy, both by exercising and eating the right foods—a great message to start off the year!

  A Multitude of Media
Take students on a virtual tour inside the human body with the video from The Digestive System unit. This video follows food from the teeth all the way through the body. Have students compare the facts they find in that video with the animated video provided by KidsHealth in the Explore the Web section.

Learning the different functions and structures of the digestive organs can be as fun as a card game! Follow these instructions to create this fun, interactive project that will require students to not only know which organs do what functions, but to know them in the correct order too!
